Professional Staff

Our staff is one of the most experienced in the world. Each member has received extensive training and is an expert is his/her field. Staff are all full time and include:

Medical Director

  • Responsible for overall standards of medical care and the clinical treatment program.
  • Evaluates all comprehensive program patients for musculoskeletal problems prior to or after admission.
  • Supervises patients' treatment plans and team conferences.
  • Provides direction to all clinical staff and holds weekly medical director rounds.
  • Makes daily patient rounds.
  • Provides pain medicine consultation.

Doctors of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation:

  • Assess rehabilitation potential.
  • Recommend therapy on physical medicine management.
  • Supervise all physical medicine treatments.
  • Provide daily clinical supervision of the therapies.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Provide physical medicine and rehabilitation for all comprehensive program patients.
  • Perform electrical studies of muscles and nerves.

Physician Assistant:

  • Screens patient applications, medical records and clearances.
  • Works in collaboration with physicians to provide physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and design tapering plans.
  • Oversees and coordinates clinical activities and follows patients to facilitate therapy participation.
  • Participates and conducts rounds and conferences.
  • Provides educational sessions.

Family Medicine Physician:

  • Clears patients for therapy.
  • Follows patients if underlying or complex medical problems in order to facilitate participation in rehabilitation.
  • Provides patient education on sleep disturbance, medications, etc.
  • Provides nutritional and weight control care and counseling if needed.

Psychiatrist:

  • Evaluates patients for complex underlying pain related problems.
  • Designs detoxification / tapering schedules.
  • Provides psychotropic medications management.
  • Serves as a consultant to psychology staff and other team members.
  • Provides patient education on sleep disturbance, medications, etc.

Psychologists:

  • Evaluate patients for pain related behavioral issues.
  • Develop behavioral plan of care.
  • Manage behavioral crises.
  • Support patients during treatment and detoxification protocols.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling.
  • Serves as consultants to team members.

Pain Management Services:

  • Pharmacology Management (Medication Management)
  • Neurosugical Procedures
  • Physical Medicine Consults
  • Rehabilitation Services (Full Program / Outpatient Rehabilitation Services)

Physical Therapy:

  • Works in consultation with the Physiatrists and all other physicians.
  • Evaluates & analyzes conditions of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Develops and applies treatment interventions to restore function and relieve pain.
  • Implements individualized therapeutic exercise regiments.
  • Provides education to patients and family members promoting their active involvement in treatment.
  • Reports to Medical Director and RCRC physicians regarding findings, progress, and problems.
  • Supervises motor dysfunction evaluation and treatment protocols.

Occupational Therapy:

  • Works in consultation with the Physiatrists and all other physicians.
  • Evaluates and analyze activities of daily living and function.
  • Notes changes in body usage which pain has created.
  • Develops specific treatment plan for good body mechanics, pacing, energy saving, and safety techniques.
  • Performs assessment of home and work environment and makes recommendations.
  • Works with vocational counselors, ergonomists to develop and implement job simulation techniques.
  • Provides instructions to prevent re-injury.

Biofeedback Therapy:

  • Teaches muscle relaxation.
  • Teaches patients to reduce muscle tension by use of various feedback mechanism.
  • Conducts individual and group relaxation training sessions.
  • Corrects posture and maladaptive gait.
  • Works with patients during therapy to enforce proper body mechanics.
  • Evaluates motor dysfunction and participates in the treatment.

Vocational Counseling:

  • Provides services to patients of working age or who have work-related injuries.
  • Assesses patients to determine work-related issues.
  • Provides information to treating team regarding job tasks and demands that can be incorporated into physical rehabilitation plan of care.
  • Counsels patients concerning work related issues.
  • Participates in the design of therapeutic job simulation in consultation with other disciplines.
  • Provides vocational rehabilitation counseling.
  • Acts as a liaison to insurance carriers, rehabilitation specialists, employers, physicians and other professionals.
  • Assists patients with instructions in job seeking skills, resume writing, application and interview techniques.
  • Performs career planning, vocational testing, and job development.

Ergonomics:

  • Staff members are full-time to the Team.
  • Analyzes human performance and functional status of patients.
  • Assists in the development and provision of job simulation.
  • Health and safety activities.
  • Conducts motion analysis, balance assessment, and motion-time studies.
  • Conducts job site analysis.
  • Provides functional capacity assessment, work capacity assessment, post offer screening, and job placement assistance.
  • Evaluate and recommends technological innovations in rehabilitation.
  • ADA compliance assistance.

Nursing:

  • Assesses each patient and develops plan of care.
  • Provides case management and overall coordinator of care to all patients.
  • Provides nursing care and supervision of patients.
  • Manages detoxification protocols.
  • Provides 24 hour observation and nursing care.
  • Consults with other Team members.
  • Provides counseling and education to patients and families.

Case Management Services:

  • Overall coordination of plan of treatment.
  • Liaison to referrers, outside agencies, rehabilitation specialists, insurance company physicians, and other.
  • Pre-admission coordination.
  • Resource to prospective patients and others.
  • Discharge planning and follow-up.

Additional Services:

  • Independent medical consultation.
  • Sports medicine and rehabilitation.
