“We all have to be educated consumers.”
Many years ago, a man by the name of Sy Simms opened a discount clothing store and he had a favorite saying in all his ads.He used to say, “An educated consumer is our best customer.”And we, the patients in the Rosomoff Comprehensive Pain Center, are all consumers.Once we walk through the door at the RCPC, we become very special customers.We are being educated about our bodies, our minds, and our feelings.We each come here with different stories about our pain and how we’ve coped with it in the past.Some of us have to leave behind many of the things we used to do, such as not getting out of bed or taking massive amounts of drugs, because these are not cures. The cure is here.When we’re here at the RCPC, we must consume the knowledge that is imparted to us by these very capable teachers---and they are all great teachers!Take home from here what you’ve learned, put it into practice every day, and you will be a healthier happier person.Good luck to all of you here—both the consumers and the givers of health!
